Christian Education for Children and Youth
Throughout the year (except the summer months of June to August), Christian Education is offered to children and young people (Pre-Kindergarten through 12th Grade). Classes provide Christian learning using Bible stories, art, music, puzzles, etc.
Christian Education for our children and young people begins at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday mornings with "Children's Time," a brief children's sermon or talk from our Rector at the beginning of the worship service (Eucharist). The children then proceed to their classes for the lesson of the day.
Children between the ages of 6 and 9 years old are prepared for First Communion classes by one of the Christian Education teachers, for a 6 to 8 week period. At the end of the classes, the children receive their communion on a special Sunday called "First Communion Sunday," usually held in November.
The Children's Ministry also participate in special events like the Christingle Service at Christmas time, Easter Egg Hunt, presentations to mothers and fathers on Mother's Day and Father's Day, and other occasions.
Parents are reminded to update their contact information with the Church Office, so that they will be kept informed throughout the year with the Children's Ministry events and activities.
